This policy explains what information TaxResOS, Inc. (“TaxResOS,” “we,” “us”) collects through our website and platform, how we use it, and the choices you have. This is a general draft and should be reviewed by counsel before publishing, particularly given the sensitivity of tax and IRS data handled by the platform.
1. Information we collect
Account and firm information: name, email, firm name, and role for anyone who creates a TaxResOS account.
Client and case data: information your firm enters or uploads into the platform on behalf of your clients, including data pulled from IRS systems on your firm's behalf. This data belongs to your firm — we process it on your instructions, we don't use it for our own purposes.
Website usage data: pages visited, general device and browser information, collected through standard analytics.
Form submissions: information you submit through contact, demo, or waitlist forms — name, email, firm name, and any message you provide.
2. How we use information
To provide, maintain, and improve the TaxResOS platform.
To respond to inquiries submitted through our website.
To send account, billing, and service-related communications.
To maintain the security and integrity of the platform and each firm's isolated workspace.
3. How client and case data is handled
Each firm's workspace is logically isolated — client and case data entered by your firm is never visible to another firm on the platform.
We act as a data processor for the client and case data your firm stores in TaxResOS. Your firm remains responsible for its obligations to its own clients, including under IRS Publication 4557 safeguarding requirements and applicable state and federal law.
4. Data sharing
We do not sell personal information.
We share information with service providers who help us operate the platform (such as hosting and infrastructure providers), bound by confidentiality obligations.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of TaxResOS, our users, or others.
5. Data security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to each firm's workspace is restricted to authorized members of that firm. See our Security page for more detail.
6. Your choices
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information by contacting us at hello@taxresos.com.
Requests related to client or case data stored by a firm using TaxResOS should be directed to that firm, as they control that data.
